Romans 3:27-28

“Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law”~Rom 3:27-28
I thought that I would start verse ponderings. There is a wonderful site http://www.heartlight.org, that provides a link to a program called paper quote. The deal with this program is that everyday, it changes your wallpaper on your desktop. On that said wallpaper, the verse on it also changes. I had this program installed at one time on my desktop computer and will be installing it on my laptop at home as well. So, as verses appear daily, so will this blog appear, complete with ponderings and other thoughts..
This happens to be from last week, as I am a slacker sometimes. It is interesting that this verse should come up as this is something that we have been going over at church on Sundays: What exactly our faith is in relation to the law. So, we are justified and saved by faith in Christ. Like Paul says, boasting is therefore excluded because we are not held to observing the law. If we were we can boast and say that we somehow ‘earned’ our salvation or rights, when it is purely by grace through faith.
